Some people say that cars act-up when you start talking about replacing them; implying that your car can hear you and actually has feelings. It is almost always said jokingly, but for a variety of reasons there probably is a logical correlation between the two events. If you are getting to the point where you are thinking of replacing your car you’ve probably dealt with small symptoms to the larger problem that reveals itself shortly after you start your search for a replacement.
None of that explains the events of last Friday. My wife and I were discussing our previous car, and the things we missed about it, as we drove up to Starbucks. As we were waiting on our frou-frou yuppified drinks a lady runs in telling us that she hit our car while pulling out of her parking spot. The lady was parked right next to us and managed to hit our front drivers side with her back passenger side, an awfully odd accident (right after reminiscing about our old car). Was our car warning us not to dote on an EX? Strange indeed!
