Cool Dude, Cool Show

I may have been a little slow in discovering the Travel Channel’s gem “No Reservations” staring Anthony Bourdain, but that actually serves me well since every episode I see from the last four seasons is new to me. A writer, cook and all-around character, Mr Bourdain's narration and antics makes his show must see TV. I plan on picking up one of his books with the hope of enjoying it as much as I enjoy the show. Wow, did I just call a Travel Channel show “must see TV” smh. Check your local listings ;)

Lego Love

The bloke and I put on our construction hats and had at the Legos last-night for the first time. It was quite the experiencing. I really dread the day he tells me, "I want to do it myself daddy!" ... Until then, I will enjoy the bonding time with my favorite momma's boy (he periodically left me to go kiss his mommy's belly because she had a stomach ache).

Being prepared

We are living in a time of high unemployment and widespread corporate downsizing. It is scary to say the least. For those of us fortunate enough to still collect a steady paycheck, what are we doing to prepare ourselves for the possibility of job loss? My preparedness is pictured below & is obviously reactionary. Now that I managed to survive another round of layoffs , will I manage to get my act together?

All that glitters.....

Black Card, we had a good run, but now it's on to the Gold (with my government stamped on the card).

Diner days!

Northern va has a shortage of mom&pop diners. We tried one out a couple of weekends ago, and while it wasn't NY, it will serve as a suitable replacment until we make it up north.

GAME GODS ARE LISTENING.. NBA JAM IS COMING BACK

I was just talking about this game the other day, and look-a-here the game gods were listening. This game was ridiculous fun in the 90s.

"ESPN reports that Electronic Arts has secured the rights to remake the Midway classic NBA Jam for the Wii. Gaming enthusiasts who were in grade- or high school in the mid-90s are bursting with excitement; everyone else will probably be left cold." (per Business Insider)

WHAT TO LEARN?!

Im sure everyone has something they wished they learned as a child, like how to play piano, ride a skateboard, ski.... the list goes on and on. Im setting out to make a list of 20 things I want my son(s) to learn... Any suggestions?

Will this help?

My Wife had a cleaning service come by over the weekend and was totally disappointed with the finished product. Basically two middle age ladies spent 2.5 hours doing the same thing my wife and I could of done in half the time. We aren't the type of couple that is too lazy or too busy to clean, but we do have a two year old, and on occasion we like to bring someone in to provide that "Deep" cleaning that a house needs from time to time. The housecleaners we hired this weekend spoke very little english, and I think the communication barrier may have impacted the end result. So I was thinking of these cards to help my wife communicate with future cleaning ladies who may not speak english....
